For five generations, encompassing 125 years of experience, our family-owned business has been committed to harvesting oysters. We have harvested tens of millions of oysters since being in business and have utilized oysters for numerous applications such as selling them in the shell, shucking on the half shell, shucking out of the shell, and even using them in an oyster stew. While we no longer grow oysters on our farm as we did for years, we still harvest wild-caught oysters in the same waters.
We have harvested oysters daily for many years on our own boats and from local waterman from the pristine waters of the Chesapeake Bay. They are then carefully inspected, washed and prepared for shucking under our Grand Pearl Half Shell Oyster line or left as is in the shell.
The Grand Pearl holds a mild, briny saltwater taste that melts into a buttery and sweet, distinctive finish. Our shellfish are caught in the certified waters of the Chesapeake Bay that are approved and maintained by the FDA. Oysters offer many health benefits, thanks to their high levels of essential vitamins, minerals and organic compounds. They're an excellent source of protein, vitamin D, and zinc, and also have high levels of Vitamin C, phosphorus, niacin and riboflavin.
All of our products, including oysters, are hand-washed, shucked and packed as we take great pride in our finished product. Our managers have many years of experience with properly handling and caring for oysters and have trained our staff to do the same.
