Shore Seafood has been purchasing fresh blue crabs out of the Chesapeake Bay from local waterman and other inland waters for decades. Upon receipt, we inspect for quality and send to our FDA-compliant processing facility, and after another quality inspection, they are perfectly graded by size and prepared into bushel baskets or boxes for shipping. Hard crabs are a preferred choice for any summer occasion.
We have processed hundreds of thousands of bushels of hard crabs through our facilities that have been consumed in restaurants all over the country thanks to the Chesapeake Bay Delights reputation that our customers have depended on for years. In addition to fresh blue crabs, we also steam and season hard crabs so there is no need to worry about mortality and also eliminates the labor and time to steam the crabs.
The day the crab is pulled from the water is the day it ships - it's that simple. No holdovers, not even a day. It doesn't get any fresher than that. We only ship healthy, lively product.

Since we only ship our hard crabs the day they are harvested we are able to extend our customers more time for delivery to reach their final destination.
Hard crabs are a delicacy. We do everything in our power to ensure they arrive alive. Due to environmental factors when shipping live blue crabs, a mortality rate is inevitable but minimal.
